Steve Bannon lands in Vancouver
On Friday (December 30), a high-profile U.S. right-wing rabblerouser was spotted at Vancouver International Airport.
According to one source, Steve Bannon arrived with a female travelling partner on an afternoon flight from Saskatoon.
Bannon was chief strategist and counselor to Donald Trump when Trump was president.
There are people with the surname “Bannon” living in Saskatoon, so perhaps he was visiting relatives over the holiday season.
In the meantime, Bannon continued with daily episodes of the WAR ROOM podcast in the post-Christmas period.
Recently, his show has been trying to convince listeners that the Communist rulers in China have bought off the elites in North America, clearing the path for global domination.
One of Bannon’s hobby horses is the “New Federal State of China”, which he cofounded in 2020 with exiled Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui. The Toronto Star’s Joanna Chiu reported that some supporters of this group were protesting outside a YouTube personality’s home in Surrey later that year.
There’s no proof at this point that Stephen K. Bannon, as he likes to be called, is linked to a massive rally planned outside Premier David Eby’s constituency office on January 18.
This demonstration is ostensibly about Bill 36, a.k.a. Health Professions and Occupations Act. Some of the people promoting this demonstration were involved in various protests against vaccine mandates.
Others are complaining over Facebook about “medical tyranny” and “full-on communism” as a result of the B.C. NDP government’s legislation. It deals with the regulation of medical professions.
I recall, however, reporting Bannon’s comment on January 5, 2021, that “all hell is going to break loose tomorrow.”
That came on his podcast a day before Trump supporters swarmed the U.S. Capitol. Bannon has since been convicted on two counts of contempt for refusing to testify to the January 6 Congressional committee about what happened.
On October 21, Bannon was sentenced to four months in jail following a trial in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Bannon subsequently filed a notice of appeal.
So, will “all hell break loose” on the West Side of Vancouver on January 18? Stay tuned.
